About Us

“Student-athlete’s in our program leave with greater game knowledge, an advanced skill level and the self-discipline needed to compete at the highest level

OUR STORY

UNY Revolution started in 2007 with one 14U team. Our 1st graduating class was in 2010, and since then, we have assisted 115 kids with the process (33 D-1, 37 D-2 and over 35 D-3 schools). The 2023 class is our 14th class and shaping up nicely with 2 D-1, 1 D-2, and 5 D-3 commits already and the completion of several pending offers coming soon.  The goal of the UNY Revolution organization is to teach young people the values of competition: to make a commitment, to work hard, to strive for excellence, to sacrifice to make the team better, and to be the best you can be as a person and as an athlete.  Our players learn about accountability and responsibility. Self-control, mental toughness, the ability to stay positive, belief and trust in oneself, and a commitment to academic excellence are essential characteristics to be successful on the softball field but, more importantly, with the real challenges in life.  The focus is player development. We teach the fundamentals of the game, starting at the 10u level. We focus on footwork, glove work, receiving, and throwing. Our method is teaching our athletes how to become independent thinkers on the softball field. Those who can think and self-adjust on their own are ultimately the best players. Good players adjust. Great players make them faster!  We educate families and student-athletes about the college recruiting process and teach them how to conduct a successful college search. We stress the importance of the student’s academics. The end game is finding the right fit both athletically and academically for the student-athlete and their family.  UNY Revolution is ultimately committed to providing a positive environment for young student-athletes who aspire to higher education within the framework of competition. We ensure every student-athlete in our program leaves with greater game knowledge, an advanced skill level and the self-discipline needed to compete at the highest level.  Student-athletes who commit to our program and stick to it will achieve rewards far beyond wins or losses. They will dramatically and permanently enhance their playing experience, athletic performance, and life success.

Why Choose Us

College Level Training

College-level softball training which focuses on improving overall athleticism, technical skills, and game strategy. Here are key areas to consider:

1. Skill Development: Work on refining throwing, fielding, and base-running techniques through drills, practice sessions, and regular repetition.

2. Tactical Training: Emphasize game awareness, situational play, defensive positioning, and offensive strategies to enhance decision-making skills.

3. Mental Preparation: Teach mental toughness, focus, and resilience. Incorporate techniques like visualization, goal-setting, and mindfulness to enhance performance under pressure.

College Recruiting Knowledge

Having softball recruiting knowledge means understanding the process and requirements for helping players get recruited for college softball teams. It involves familiarity with evaluating player skills, knowledge of college recruiting guidelines, awareness of scouting events and showcases, understanding the role of coaches and scouts, and being knowledgeable about the recruitment timeline and communication methods used in the softball recruiting process.  We also have a pipeline of college coaches that we have relationships with.  This is why we have been able to help so many student athletes achieve their goal of playing at the collegiate level.

Exposure  Opportunities

Don’t be fooled by orginizations that say they have “Showcase team opportunities”.  Knowing what events to enter and being accepted into invitation only events is critical.  Alot of tournaments are called showcase events, but knowing which ones to attend is crucial.   Attending the correct exposure tournaments for softball is important for several reasons:

1. Talent Showcase: Exposure tournaments attract college recruiters and scouts who are looking for talented players. By attending these tournaments, you increase your chances of being noticed and potentially receiving offers or scholarships.

2. Competition Level: Exposure tournaments often feature high-level competition, allowing you to test your skills against some of the best players in your age group. This can help you gauge your abilities, identify areas for improvement, and push yourself to perform at your best.

3. Visibility: Participating in reputable exposure tournaments increases your visibility within the softball community. Coaches, scouts, and other players become aware of your performance and skills, which can lead to additional opportunities such as invitations to elite camps or showcases.

4. Networking: Exposure tournaments provide a platform for networking and building connections within the softball community. You can interact with coaches, players, and industry professionals, creating valuable connections that may benefit your athletic career in the long run.

Higher Competition Level

Playing in higher level competition in softball is important for several reasons:

1. Skill development: Higher level competition exposes players to more challenging opponents and situations, which helps improve their skills. The speed of the game is ramped up.  They have to raise their game to compete at that level, pushing themselves to become better players.

2. Mental toughness: Higher level competition tests a player’s mental toughness and resilience. They learn to handle pressure, deal with setbacks, and make quick decisions under intense circumstances. This strengthens their mental game and prepares them for future challenges.

3. Exposure to scouts and recruiters: Higher level competition often attracts more attention from college coaches, scouts, and recruiters. Playing at this level increases the chances of being noticed and potentially earning scholarships or opportunities to play at higher levels of competition.

4. Personal growth and achievement: Participating in higher level competition allows players to set and achieve challenging goals. It pushes them out of their comfort zones, leading to personal growth, increased self-confidence, and a sense of accomplishment.

Overall, playing in higher level competition in softball provides valuable experiences and opportunities for skill development, mental toughness, exposure, teamwork, and personal growth.
